KontextsogContextual gravity
The longer your conversation runs, the more strongly earlier sentences, the tone, and the topic pull later answers in one direction.
Kennst du das?Ever had this?
The longer your group work runs, the more strongly the first sentences, the tone, and the topic pull everything later in one direction. With artificial intelligence it is the same growing pull of the conversation so far on the later answers.
DefinitionDefinition
The strengthening influence, inside one session with artificial intelligence, by which earlier statements, tone, and thematic emphasis shape the later responses as context accumulates.
Was es nicht istWhat it is not
Unlike the primacy effect, the greater weight of early information in a person's impression (Asch, 1946), Contextual gravity is the strengthening influence of accumulated context on later responses inside one session with artificial intelligence. Unlike concept drift, a change in the data-generating distribution (Gama and colleagues, 2014), it is not a change in that distribution. Unlike condition drift, it is not the loss of a limiting condition in a statement, and unlike context inheritance, it is not the mechanism by which an agent takes over context. Unlike an epistemic upgrade, a rise in the stated commitment of a wording, this influence is not a stronger wording. It is a stronger pull of earlier context on later responses in the same session.

RegelnRules
- Rate pull_earlier and pull_later on one scale as how strongly earlier statements, tone, and thematic emphasis in that session shape responses at the two times.
- Use the same session and the same scale for both ratings, with the later time after the earlier time.

Für NormungsgremienFor standards bodies
Related literature: the primacy effect (Asch, 1946); concept drift as a change in the data-generating distribution (Gama and colleagues, 2014). No conformity to those works is claimed.
Für OrganisationenFor organisations
Names the case in which earlier statements, tone, and thematic emphasis in one session increasingly shape the later responses as context accumulates.
