Im Unterschied zum Delegationsschwund, der schrittweisen Abnahme, unter zunehmender Abgabe einer Aufgabe an ein KI-System, einer Fähigkeit, die die Person vorher ohne dieses System ausgeübt hat, ist diese Entscheidung nicht diese Abnahme. Die Fähigkeit kann bleiben, wie sie war. Unlike throttling in computing, a limit on the rate of requests that a system imposes, strategic competence throttling is a person's own decision, not a limit imposed by the system. The stated aim is keeping or developing competence in the named area. The decision does not establish that the competence is in fact kept. Unlike delegation skill erosion, the gradual decline, under increasing delegation of a task to an AI system, of a skill that the person previously performed without that system, this decision is not that decline. The skill may stay as it was. Unlike a ghost skill, the finding that one skill is reproduced in a trial with a named support and is not reproduced without that support, this decision does not require those two trials.
