VertrauensberichtReported trust

MANITAI-DimensionMANITAI dimension: ROBMANITAI

You make a statement about what you expect of a robot's behaviour or of its reliability.

Kennst du das?Ever had this?

After the spilled juice you say whether you would still trust the other person with the next bowl. With a robot it is the same reported trust when you make a statement about your expectations of its behaviour or its reliability.

DefinitionDefinition

A statement by one person of that person's expectations of a robot's behaviour or reliability.

Was es nicht istWhat it is not

Unlike trust in automation, an attitude that a system will help reach a goal under uncertainty (Lee and See, 2004), reported trust is one person's statement of expectations of a robot's behaviour or reliability, not that attitude. Unlike trust calibration, the adjustment of that attitude to the system's capability (Lee and See, 2004), the statement is not that adjustment. Unlike reliance, an observable decision to depend on a system's performance (Lee and See, 2004), it is not that decision.

Für NormungsgremienFor standards bodies

Source: RM:0081. Trust, trust calibration, and reliance are distinguished in Lee and See, 2004. This entry records the statement only. Blanket trust and epistemic half-life are neighbouring terms in this vocabulary. Self-report trust scales such as Jian, Bisantz, and Drury, 2000, are instruments that elicit such statements; this entry names the statement, not the instrument. No conformity to a named standard is claimed.

Für OrganisationenFor organisations

Names the case in which one person states expectations of a robot's behaviour or reliability.
