You use two or more different pictured gestures, one for each result of the same interface.
Kennst du das?Ever had this?
In the choir one hand cues the entry, and the other hand cuts off the singing. At the interface you report two pictured gestures for two results.
DefinitionDefinition
An experience, reported by a person operating a brain–computer interface, in which that person uses two or more pictured gestures for two or more results of the same interface, one gesture for each result.
Was es nicht istWhat it is not
Unlike motor imagery (Jeannerod, 1995), the mental image of one movement, a pictured-gesture split requires two or more pictured gestures and two or more results of the same interface, one gesture for each result. Unlike multi-class motor imagery, a classifier design in brain–computer interface research, this experience is the person's reported assignment of pictured gestures to results. Unlike a still-body command, the report of one pictured movement that the body does not carry out, one gesture is not enough. Unlike a mental-strategy search, the reported trying of more than one way of picturing before one way holds, the gestures here are reported as assigned to results, not as a search that is still open.

RegelnRules
- Record the person, the interface, at least two pictured gestures, and at least two results, with one gesture for each result.
- Do not record one pictured movement, by itself, as this split, and do not record a classifier design as this experience.

Source: AUGMANITAI analysis of published first-person accounts of brain–computer interface use (BRAMANITAI research file, 2026-10-16). Motor imagery (Jeannerod, 1995) is the neighboring term for one pictured movement. Multi-class motor imagery is a neighboring classifier design. This entry is the reported assignment of two or more pictured gestures to two or more results, one gesture for each result. ISO/IEC 8663:2025 is a vocabulary for brain–computer interface technology. IEEE P2731 is a draft terminology project; a glossary proposal from that work was published in 2021. This entry records a reported experience of operating such an interface. No conformity to ISO/IEC 8663:2025, to IEEE P2731, or to any other named standard is claimed.
Für OrganisationenFor organisations
