KernbegriffCore term

Eine Betätigung mit zusätzlicher FolgeOne activation with an additional consequence

MANITAI-DimensionMANITAI dimension: UXDMANITAI

You trigger the intended action once on the intended target, and that same trigger also changes something you did not expect.

Kennst du das?Ever had this?

You click Install for a game, and it also changes your browser's start page, which you did not expect. With an AI, one activation does the intended action and also brings a change you did not expect.

DefinitionDefinition

The state in which one activation triggers the intended digital action on the intended target and the same activation also produces at least one separately describable change that the person did not expect from that action.

Was es nicht istWhat it is not

Sneaking hides an extra effect on purpose (Gray et al., 2018); one activation with an additional consequence needs no such concealment. Correct highlight, wrong target changes an object other than the highlighted one; here the intended target changes, and the same activation adds a further change. Additional consequence deliberately separated replaces the combined action with an individual step; here that replacement has not been made.

Für NormungsgremienFor standards bodies

Source: UXD-20261004-005. Conformity with user expectations in ISO 9241-110:2020 is the nearer dialogue principle. Meant–done distance is a neighbouring term in this vocabulary. The expectation field attributes no fault and is not for assessing individuals. No conformity to a named standard is claimed.

Für OrganisationenFor organisations

Names the case in which one activation triggers the intended digital action on the intended target and the same activation also produces at least one separately describable change that the person did not expect.
