You ask for the same fact under another context, model or date, and the wording can differ; the fact itself is not changed.

Kennst du das?Ever had this?

You ask two AI systems for the year the Berlin Wall fell, and ask one of them again later. By the check you set beforehand, the answers are not equivalent. The year itself has not changed.

DefinitionDefinition

The state of one factual statement produced in work assisted by artificial intelligence in which at least two generated wordings, recorded under a stated difference of context, model or generation time, are judged non-equivalent by a stated procedure, without treating the underlying fact as variable.

Was es nicht istWhat it is not

Unlike sampling inconsistency (Manakul, Liusie and Gales, 2023), the compared wordings differ in a stated context, model or generation time, not only by resampling. Unlike the half-life of facts (Arbesman, 2012), the underlying fact is not treated as superseded. Unlike condition drift, a limiting condition may stay, and unlike liquid modernity (Bauman, 2000) this state is not a society and liquid does not mean linguistic fluency.

Für NormungsgremienFor standards bodies

The entry records a difference between generated wordings under a stated change of context, model or time. It does not treat the underlying fact as variable. Sampling inconsistency is discussed by Manakul, Liusie and Gales (2023). The half-life of facts in Arbesman (2012) is the time until knowledge in a field is superseded. Liquid modernity is Bauman (2000). No conformity to those works is claimed.

Für OrganisationenFor organisations

Names the case in which two generated wordings of one factual statement in work assisted by artificial intelligence are judged non-equivalent under a stated difference of context, model or time, while the fact is not treated as variable.
