Im Unterschied zu einer Mensch-Roboter-Objektübergabe, dem Wechsel der tatsächlichen Verfügung über ein Objekt (Strabala und andere, 2013), ist ein Übergabeangebot die Mitteilung oder Darstellung, dass ein bestimmtes Objekt angeboten wird, nicht dieser Wechsel. Im Unterschied zu einer Übernahmebestätigung, einem Signal, mit dem die empfangende Seite eine bezeichnete Übernahme bestätigt, eröffnet es ein Angebot und bestätigt die Übergabe nicht. Im Unterschied zu einer Übergabezone, dem vorgesehenen Bereich einer Objektübergabe, ist es diese Mitteilung oder Darstellung, nicht der Bereich.
Unlike a human–robot object handover, the transfer of practical control of an object (Strabala and others, 2013), a handover offer is the communication or display that a particular object is offered, not that transfer. Unlike a transfer acceptance confirmation, a signal by which the receiving side confirms a specified transfer, it opens an offer and does not confirm the transfer. Unlike a handover zone, the designated region for an object transfer, it is that communication or display, not the region.
