KernbegriffCore term
ZielmehrdeutigkeitGoal ambiguity
MANITAI-DimensionMANITAI dimension: ROBMANITAI
Several possible task goals fit the information in front of you, and it is not settled which one is meant.
Kennst du das?Ever had this?
While baking you are told to get the dough ready; kneading it and rolling it out both fit. With a robot it is the same goal ambiguity when a state holds in which several task goals are compatible with the available information.
DefinitionDefinition
A state in which several task goals are compatible with the available information.
Was es nicht istWhat it is not
Unlike intention estimation, an uncertain inference of a possible human action goal from cues, goal ambiguity is a state in which several task goals fit the available information, not that inference. Unlike legibility of robot motion (Dragan, Lee, and Srinivasa, 2013), it is not a score of how far a motion reveals one goal. Unlike a reference clarification need, which concerns assigning one reference to an object or a place, it concerns task goals.

RegelnRules
- Record the task, the available information, and the number of task goals compatible with it.
- Do not record a single inferred goal, or the distance between what was meant and what was carried out, as this state.
