BegegnungssituationEncounter situation
MANITAI-DimensionMANITAI dimension: ROBMANITAI
Einfach erklärtIn plain words
In einem klar begrenzten Zeitraum zählt dein Tun für das, was ein Roboter tut, und sein Tun zählt für das, was du tust.
In one clearly bounded stretch of time, what you do matters for what a robot does, and what it does matters for what you do.
Kennst du das?Ever had this?
In the corridor you both stop, because each of you would cross the other's path, and that short stretch matters to both of you. With a robot, the same encounter situation is one bounded stretch where each side's actions matter to the other.
DefinitionDefinition
A bounded period of analysis in which one person and one robot become relevant to each other's actions.
Was es nicht istWhat it is not
Unlike human–robot interaction, the study of mutual influence between people and robots (Goodrich and Schultz, 2007), an encounter situation is one bounded period, not that field. Unlike a collaborative operation in ISO/TS 15066:2016 (collaborative terminology since revised in ISO 10218-1:2025 and ISO 10218-2:2025), a way of working in which a person and a robot may perform tasks at the same time, it is that period, not that way of working. Unlike an encounter zone, the spatial region in which encounter events are recorded, it is the period, not that region.

RegelnRules
- Record the period, the person, the robot, and whether each has become relevant to the other's actions.
- Do not record a general research field, a collaborative mode of working, or a willingness to take part as this period.

Für NormungsgremienFor standards bodies
Source: RM:0055. Human–robot interaction is the general field of mutual influence (Goodrich and Schultz, 2007). A collaborative operation in ISO/TS 15066:2016 (collaborative terminology since revised in ISO 10218-1:2025 and ISO 10218-2:2025) is a way of working, not this period. An encounter zone and an interaction agreement are neighbouring terms in this group. An interaction surface explosion is a neighbouring term in this vocabulary. No conformity to a named standard is claimed.
Für OrganisationenFor organisations
Names the case in which one person and one robot become relevant to each other's actions during one bounded period of analysis.
