You rate your ability to step in and stop what the AI agents are doing higher than an independent score of that same ability.

Kennst du das?Ever had this?

You rate yourself 4 out of 5 for stopping the AI before it emails your team. Another person scores that ability 2 out of 5 on the same scale, above the margin of 1 you stated beforehand.

DefinitionDefinition

A discrepancy in which one person's rating of their ability to intervene in one orchestrated workflow exceeds, by more than a margin stated before the rating, the intervention level that another assessor assigns to that workflow on the same stated scale.

Was es nicht istWhat it is not

Unlike the illusion of control (Langer, 1975), a belief that one controls chance outcomes, this is the excess of a self-rating over another person's assessment of intervention in one workflow. Unlike an intervention capability, it is not the usable option itself. The record is a difference on one scale and does not state conformity with Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, Article 14.

Für NormungsgremienFor standards bodies

The illusion of control in Langer (1975) is a belief that one controls chance outcomes. Both values are numbers on scale_ref. The record does not state conformity with Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, Article 14. No conformity to Langer (1975) is claimed. This record evaluates an identified person's performance, reliability or ability and is profiling under GDPR Art. 4(4); in employment or education it needs a legal basis under Art. 6 and Art. 88 and, in Germany, co-determination under BetrVG § 87(1) No. 6 and § 94, and it must not be the sole basis of a decision about that person (Art. 22). It does not assess, rank or diagnose the person, is not an assessment of competence, honesty or authorship, and is not for assessing individuals; prefer pseudonymised or aggregated records.

Für OrganisationenFor organisations

Names the case in which a person's rating of their ability to intervene in one workflow exceeds another assessor's level for that workflow by more than a pre-stated margin on the same scale.
