Versteinerte HausregelFossilized house rule
Earlier working name: Protocol fossilization
You keep a coordination agreement even though the situation has changed and it is now doubtful whether it still fits.
Kennst du das?Ever had this?
At the club you still send a long daily report, although only a small part of the tournament is left and it is open whether the report still fits. With several programs the same agreement stays after the situation has changed.
DefinitionDefinition
The persistence of a coordination convention although changed conditions call its suitability into question.
Was es nicht istWhat it is not
Unlike protocol ossification (RFC 9170), in which deployed implementations come to accept only the protocol forms they already know so that the protocol can no longer be extended in practice, this term is a coordination convention that remains in use after its conditions have changed. Unlike an agent handshake, which is the opening exchange that establishes capabilities, limits, and task parameters, it is not that opening exchange. Unlike fossilization in second-language research, a learner form that stops changing, this term is not a learner error. Unlike an unwritten house rule, which is a coordination pattern recognized when no record shows it as prescribed, this term is only the persistence after the conditions have changed.

RegelnRules
- Identify one coordination convention and the conditions of its use before and after the change.
- Set suitability_in_question when the changed conditions call the convention's suitability into question, and persisted when the convention remains in use.

Für OrganisationenFor organisations
Names the case in which a coordination convention persists although changed conditions call its suitability into question.
