KernbegriffCore term

Tagesform der SteuerungDay-to-day feel of control

MANITAI-DimensionMANITAI dimension: BRAMANITAI

You feel the same control task at the interface differently on two days, and the term does not ask why.

Kennst du das?Ever had this?

The lock on the shed opens easily on Monday, and on Tuesday it sticks at the same turn of the hand. At the interface you report that the same control task felt different on two days.

DefinitionDefinition

An experience, reported by a person operating a brain–computer interface, in which one and the same control task felt different on a later day than on an earlier day; the term records no cause, whether or not the person names one.

Was es nicht istWhat it is not

Unlike session-to-session variability as a change in measured signals from one session to another, a day-to-day feel of control is only the person's report that the same control task felt different on two named days. It does not name a cause, and the German label Tagesform is a sports metaphor for that felt difference. Unlike hold weariness, weariness from keeping attention on a command that is reported as greater later in the same session and is attributed to that holding, this experience compares two days, not two times inside one session.

Session-to-session variability of measured signals is a neighboring measurement. This entry is the reported difference in feel across two named days, the sports metaphor of a day form, and it names no cause. ISO/IEC 8663:2025 is a vocabulary for brain–computer interface technology. IEEE P2731 is a draft terminology project; a glossary proposal from that work was published in 2021. This entry records a reported experience of operating such an interface. No conformity to ISO/IEC 8663:2025, to IEEE P2731, or to any other named standard is claimed.

Für OrganisationenFor organisations
