It is the state in which a named system changes the model it runs, a person addresses the system by its name, and that person hears the same synthetic voice. Voice here is that synthetic voice, not a style of writing. Unlike agent version drift, the state in which two or more participating software agents run versions that differ and that difference is relevant to their collaboration, this state is one system changing its model, not two agents on different versions. Unlike agent identity persistence, the state in which one agent remains recognizable across sessions by specified features of its behavior or of its configuration, recognizability is not required here, and that state can hold without a change of model. A kept name alone is not this state. The synthetic voice has to stay as well, and the model has to change.

Under the GDPR, a synthetic voice can be personal data where it relates to an identifiable natural person, for example when it is derived from that person or copies that person's voice. Agent version drift and agent identity persistence are neighbouring terms in this vocabulary. The gap is stated in the name-check note of 2026-10-16: no source entry states that the model changes while the addressed name and the synthetic voice stay. No conformity to a named standard is claimed.
