KernbegriffCore term

You report discomfort at an interaction of several agents that nearly, but not fully, reproduces a human team interaction.

Kennst du das?Ever had this?

At the club fair three puppets act out a team talk nearly, but not fully, and you say it makes you uneasy. With AI agents it is the same unease when their interaction nearly, but not fully, reproduces a human team talk.

DefinitionDefinition

The discomfort a person reports at an interaction of several agents that nearly, but not fully, reproduces a human team interaction.

Was es nicht istWhat it is not

Unlike the uncanny valley (Mori, 1970), a proposed dip in affinity toward one figure as that figure's human likeness increases, the multi-agent uncanny valley is an explicit transfer of that name from one human-like figure to an agent team. It is the discomfort a person reports at an interaction of several agents that nearly, but not fully, reproduces a human team interaction. This term states no affinity curve. It does not state that discomfort rises and then falls as likeness increases.

Für NormungsgremienFor standards bodies

Source: SWA26-0021. The uncanny valley in Mori (1970) is a proposed dip in affinity toward one figure as that figure's human likeness increases. This term transfers that name from one human-like figure to an agent team and states no affinity curve. No conformity to a named standard is claimed.

Für OrganisationenFor organisations
