Übernahme eines überholten VorschlagsstandsAdoption of an outdated proposal version

MANITAI-DimensionMANITAI dimension: UXDMANITAI

You accept a tidy version made from your old text, and your new sentence is gone.

Kennst du das?Ever had this?

You ask the AI to tidy your essay. While it works, you add a sentence. You click Accept and expect your new sentence to stay, but the tidy version was made from the old text, so your sentence is gone.

DefinitionDefinition

The state in which a person, after changing the target content, adopts a proposal built for the earlier version, while expecting the proposal to be based on the changed version.

Was es nicht istWhat it is not

A lost update is one write overwriting an intervening change (Berenson et al., 1995); adoption of an outdated proposal version is one person adopting a proposal built for the earlier version while expecting the changed version. Groupware concurrency control (Ellis and Gibbs, 1989) accounts for concurrent edits and is not this adoption. Deliberate preview adoption applies the version the person expects; here the adopted version is the earlier one.

Für NormungsgremienFor standards bodies

Source: UXD-20261004-013. A lost update is the concurrency anomaly in which one write overwrites an intervening change (Berenson et al., 1995). Ellis and Gibbs (1989) address groupware concurrency control, not that anomaly. Deliberate preview adoption is a neighbouring term in this group. The expectation field records a reported or observed expectation, attributes no fault to the person, and is not for assessing individuals. No conformity to a named standard is claimed.

Für OrganisationenFor organisations

Names the case in which a person, after changing the target content, adopts a proposal built for the earlier version, while expecting the proposal to be based on the changed version.
